Rediscovering the Charm of Joomla: A Migration Journey and Appreciation for Trusted Software Partners
In the past six years, our development focus has transitioned from Joomla! to WordPress. This shift was influenced by two factors: client demands for WordPress and the ease of implementing and integrating third-party plugins, such as payment and shipping suppliers, for clients requiring ecommerce functionality.
However, during the past two weeks, as I've been migrating numerous Joomla 3 sites to Joomla 4, I've found myself rediscovering my love for Joomla! I appreciate how seamless the migrations have been and how Joomla! provides guidance throughout the process with prompts and helpful links. Our migration process has been made even easier by utilizing premium paid templates, modules, and components. I must commend Akeeba admin for their exceptional security measures and reliable backups of all our sites since 2012, ensuring our clients' protection against hacking attempts. Their migration tool also assists in removing unnecessary plugin, module, and component files. Additionally, I am grateful to YOOtheme for their contribution in making our development work effortless, lightweight, and consistent across both Joomla and WordPress platforms.
